Charles Montgomery took ownership of the company in 2002 and brought with him his expertise in cartridge manufacturing. He is a very enthusiastic game and wing shooter, is passionate about clay target shooting and his biggest wish is to make National Cartridge one of the biggest names in the shooters circles

From our base in Cape Town, National Cartridge has grown to such an extent that we opened a Wholesale warehouse in Pretoria in 2015 to become one of the larger importers and distributors of hunting and sporting arms and accessories in Southern Africa

In 2023 it was decided that we will make Pretoria the main Wholesale distributor and the name National Cartridge Company will be our Wholesale company name. Cape Town expanded to become one of a kind retail out lid with its own shooting range. The name Suburban Guns will remain our retail store name as it is known from the start as Suburban Guns in Cape Town

Through our Wholesale company we have an established an network which distributes to over 600 retail outlets throughout South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia.

The company furthermore prides itself, that all aspects of the shooter are catered for and offers products from reputable manufactures. Merkel, Haenel, Stoeger, Diamondback, Armed, Sabatti, Eley Hawk , Eley Ltd, UTG, Real Avid, MEC, Forster, X-Vision, Cometa, Hawke Optics, MACE, Walker and other international brands feature in our stock
